There are six local recruits among the latest attestation of new Gardaí from the Garda College.
194 new Gardaí and 17 Garda reserves will now be assigned to Garda Divisions across the country.
Locally, there are two new Gardaí for Cavan, two for Monaghan, one for Ardee, and one for Bailieboro.
Fianna Fáil Senator Robbie Gallagher welcomed the news.
According to the Senator, a visible Garda presence is critical in the community.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said more Gardaí are needed in local streets and villages.
Senator Gallagher said: "We need to see more Gardaí on our streets and in our villages, and we're not seeing them at the moment, because the numbers simply aren't there. Hopefully we can look forward to seeing that.
"I'm in Dublin two or three days a week, and you can clearly see a visible presence of Gardaí that wasn't there a number of years ago.
"I understand the concentration initially was on Dublin and Cork and major cities, but now the rest of rural Ireland should see more Gardaí on the streets.
"They're badly needed. It gives people confidence, it gives people safety when they can see a Garda patrol on the street," Senator Gallagher added.
