A Co Monaghan road remains closed following a fatal road traffic crash.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car, at Inishammon, Smithboro, last night.
The collision, on the R187 between Monaghan and Roslea, occurred at approximately 7.30pm.

The sole occupant of the car, a man aged in his 30’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been transferred to the Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road remains closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
