The sod has been turned on a state of the art facility at Monaghan GAA’s VBC Cloghan training complex ahead of a major extension.
The Cloghan Development project is set to be completed by June 2026
Local construction company Doohamlet construction has the contract of the further development of the Centre of excellence facilty. Situated in Cloghan just off the main N2 between Monaghan and Castleblayney the centre is the main focal point for all GAA codes, including men and ladies football, hurling, camogie and rounders.
The proposed further development of the venue will see extensive work been carried out that includes a fully-equipped auditorium for video analysis and a brand new gym amongst a host of other facilities. A spectator stand to hold up to 170 people, with terraces taking capacity to between 500-600 people are also part of these exciting plans by Monaghan GAA.
County chairman Declan Flanagan says this is something that has been in planning for the past number of years.
