We'll have the chance to see part of a solar eclipse just before 8 o'clock this evening.
The moon is due to cover almost half of the sun - depending on what part of the country you're in. A full eclipse will be seen in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Head of Education and Outreach at MTU’s Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork, Frances McCarthy, says those in the west and northwest will have the best chance of seeing the eclipse: "From Cork, we're only going to get 20 per cent of the sun covered up by the moon so, go west if you can," Ms McCarthy explained, "The further west you go, the better it will be. I'm sorry for the people on the east coast. You're looking at the smallest sliver of the moon covering up and a little bit of the sun will be extinguished."
