Some roads in Monaghan remain closed following flooding

Council crews  across the region are out again today clearing trees and debris from affected routes.

Several diversions remain in place due to flooding. Flooding at Monaghan town centre traffic lights has receded and is now fully passable.

The Castle Road and access to Monaghan shopping centre remain closed this afternoon in Monaghan Town.

The R183 Annalore Bridge is also closed and diversions will remain in place for a number of days.

The River Finn continues to rise and a number of roads closures are in place in the Scotshouse, Newbliss and Clones area.

While the ESB continue to work to restore remaining power outages, full service is expected by tomorrow.
