A number of motorists across Cavan and Monaghan were fined for speeding and other driving offences over the weekend. In one incident, members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit detected a motorist driving without insurance, tax or NCT.
The driver now faces a Court appearance and the car was detained. Elsewhere, members of the Monaghan Roads Policing also detected a number of motorists exceeding the 100kmph limit on the N2 near Monaghan Town.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, all motorist received fixed payment notices with a fine and penalty points.
