Cavan Monaghan TD Brendan Smith has welcomed the awarding of a contract for a major extension to St. Brigid's National School, Killoughter, Redhills.
Work will commence within weeks on this new extension which will consist of one mainstream classroom and a three classroom SEN base to cater for children with Special Educational Needs.
Deputy Smith said he was "very glad" to support the work of the School Principal Ms Tinneny and her staff colleagues, the Board of Management and the Parents' Association in their strong advocacy for this new accommodation.
The local TD complimented the wider school community on their work and wish good luck to all involved in this welcome building project.
He added that he will be glad to continue to support the Redhills community as they seek to enhance and expand amenities in their area.
