The remarkable stone restoration works that has been carried out on at St. Macartan’s Cathedral will feature on RTE One later this evening.
The story behind the local cathedral will air on RTE's Nationwide from 7pm.
The Cathedral has been a proud recipient of funding through the Historic Structures Fund, securing €200,000 in recent weeks. Local councillor Pauric Clerkin says these funds are crucial in supporting urgent external refurbishment and stone conservation efforts.
Cllr Clerkin said that investment is key in preserving this iconic heritage site for future generations to come. He says St. Macartan’s Cathedral is the success story when it comes to this years funding stream from the Built Heritage Investment Scheme
