St. Patrick’s parades set to bring festive cheer across the region

The first parade got underway on Friday in Clones, with more set to start on Sunday and Monday.

Towns and villages across the region are gearing up for their St Patrick's Day parades this weekend.

For some, the festivities will take place a day earlier on Sunday March 16th.

Clones will host their annual St Patricks Eve parade in the town on Sunday evening from 7pm

Also on Sunday, Cavan Town's parade begins at 1:30 pm from Cavan Institute, while in Ballinagh festivities begin at 4:30 pm from the Community Centre.

The majority of parades in the region get underway on the Bank Holiday Monday.

In Monaghan Town, festivities begin at 3 pm, Carrickmacross at 3 pm and Oram at 12:30 pm.

Ballybay's St Patrick's Day Parade begins at 5 pm from Gerry Traynor's shop whilst Newbliss kicks off at 1:15 pm.

In Cavan: Cootehill, Ballyconnell, Arva, and Kilnaleck begin at 3 pm, Killeshandra starts at 12:30 pm, Bailieborough at 2:30 pm and Ballyjamesduff at 4 pm.

Finally in Mullagh, the parade starts at 5 pm and Mountnugent's parade starts at 5:30 pm on Monday.
