Cllr Pauric Clerkin has welcomed the announcement of a start-date for a €100,000 investment for the Sliabh Beagh Hotel & Tourism Centre.
The €100,000 funding will support a full refurbishment of the hotel's exterior, including a new layout and updated outdoor furniture.
Renovation works are scheduled to begin on Monday, 5th January 2026, and are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
The project forms part of a wider initiative to enhance the Sliabh Beagh Hotel & Tourism Centre, improving accessibility and modernising the building to ensure it remains welcoming and inclusive for all.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Clerkin said this investment will help ensure that the Sliabh Beagh Hotel continues to serve as a key asset for the local community and visitors alike.
He told Northern Sound: "I want to wish the Sliabh Beagh Hotel & Tourism Centre and their hardworking committee the very best of luck with their exciting renovation plans. In mid-March, I was delighted to receive the fantastic news that Sliabh Beagh Hotel had been successful in its application under the Community Centres Investment Fund.
"I was proud to support the application and I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished result. This investment will help ensure that the Sliabh Beagh Hotel continues to serve as a key asset for the local community and visitors alike."
