Stephen Silver has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison for the Capital Murder of Detective Colm Horkan in Castlerea three years ago.
The Foxford Bike mechanic was convicted by a Jury of 7 men and 5 women last month.
Colm Horkan was shot dead with his own weapon on the 17th of June 2020 in Castlerea following a scuffle with Stephen Silver.

Ms Justice Tara Byrne this morning sentenced Mr Silver to a life sentence with a minimum term of 40 years in Prison.
