A Co Monaghan farming family who suffered a horrific dog attack on their flock of sheep have highlighted their plight in Leinster House.
In the aftermath of this attack, Eamon Monaghan along with daughter Niamh Monaghan made the decision to begin a campaign for meaningful change on behalf of all sheep farmers who have experienced the same horrific events.
The incident that occurred on their Inniskeen farm was the fourth attack in five years.
To highlight the scale of this growing problem, they distributed two surveys to sheep farmers across the country to gather data on the true impact of dog attacks on livestock.
Last week they proudly presented their story and their findings from the dog attacks on sheep survey and key requests in Leinster House.
Niamh says the survey really shone a light on the severity on the problem. While Eamon says they will keep campaigning until meaningful change is delivered at government level.
