The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul say requests for help this year has been much higher than in 2024.
The charity says they have seen rising calls from people wondering how they will put food on the table, keep homes warm, and afford toys.
SVP National President Teresa Ryan who is a native of Ballybay says this Christmas, too many parents are wondering how they'll manage the basics and what 2026 will look for them.
She says they are seeing middle income earners who are struggling to put food on the table and who are making sure there family can have a Christmas.
Teresa says the cost of living crisis is very real and it's not being spoken about as much as it should be.
She also says there's still a stigma out there in relation to reaching out for help.
The Co Monaghan native says all the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul want to do is allow people who are struggling have a nice Christmas.
