The newly-appointed GP in Swanlinbar is seeking planning permission to change the use of a domestic garage to new consultation rooms. Works will include construction of a fully-serviced, single-storey extension to front of the property in the west Cavan village.
Contracts were signed in recent weeks for the local doctor to become the new permanent GP in Swanlinbar which followed a uncertain period of time for locals in relation to holding on to a full GP in the area.
Following pressure, the HSE agreed to advertise the role for a sixth time in April. A decision on the planning application is due at the start of July.
