The Minister for Finance, Simon Harris has said that Ireland's economy "is in good shape".
It comes as the Tánaiste announced the reduction on excise duty on fuel, which cuts the price of petrol and diesel by 10 cent per litre.
The measures came in this morning, as a response to rising fuel costs driven by the war in Iran.
The cuts bring the total tax reductions on fuel to 32 cent per litre on diesel and 27 cent per litre on petrol since the crisis began.
According to Simon Harris, no government in the world can insulate from all of the challenges that a war presents.
The Tánaiste said: "I'm really conscious it is a tough time for people. Due to the war in Iran, people have seen a real rise in costs and a spike in fuel costs.
"We've got to work together to get through this. Our economy is in good shape. No government in the world can insulate from all of the challenges that a war presents.
"We are determined to do more together," he added.
