The Community Action Tenants Union (CATU) has launched its very own branch in Co Cavan.
Later today the group will host a stall along with a public meeting for the community to learn more about the group.
The stall will be located at Market Square, Cavan Town at 12pm followed by an open meeting at 2pm.
Saoirse Ní Bhaoigheallain says the aim of the group is to stand up for the rights of tenants in the hope of getting some solutions in terms of polices that will help support and protect tenants in the future.
As a young person living in Co Cavan, Saoirse says too many have been left with no other option but to leave Ireland due to the current housing crisis and radical change is needed to fix this.
Speaking to Northern Sound, she believes solutions can be found if members of the community come together to create change.
