Tenders have gone out to interested parties for works to commence at the Market House in Castleblayney.
The news was welcomed by Cllr Aidan Campbell.
Over 12 million euro has been set aside for this project in a bid to rejuvenator and bring the Market House back to life.

The Market House which is located in the Centre of Castleblayney has been vacant for quite some time.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Campbell said it's a "great day" for Castleblayney to get these tenders out and he's hopeful that a crane will be on site before the year is out.
He hopes this project will create a busy hub that will bring energy and light back to the centre of the town.
