Three of the parks in the Northern Sound region have been named in the top 20 most visited Coillte Recreational Parks.
Rossmore Forest Park in Co. Monaghan was number two on the list with 343,074 visitor in 2024.
Killykeen Forest Park in Co Cavan had 103,000 visitors last year putting it at number eight on the list.
Number 17 on the list was Deepark Virginia in Co Cavan, which received 56,999 visitors in 2024.
Avondale Forest Park in Wicklow took the top spot with 344,765 visitors in the time frame.
Speaking about the list Coillte's Head of Recreation, Daithi de Forge, said:
"As Ireland's largest provider of outdoor recreation spaces, Coillte is delighted to see the growth in visitor numbers to three million, across our most popular recreational sites in 2024. This increase highlights the importance of outdoor recreation and reflects a growing demand by the public to spend time in nature."
