€7,500 was the top-price paid for a heifer at Carrigallen Mart over the weekend.
The Leitrim mart hosted the annual heifer sale of well-known Bailieboro based cattle breeder Jim Heery.
Jim had up on 80 heifers under the hammer on Saturday at the local mart. The €7,500 was achieved for 12 month BBX heifer which weighed in at 480KG.

There was exceptional demand for the top-class weanling heifers on offer at the special sale with farmers travelling from across the country to purchase the Co Cavan man's weanlings.
