A cattle breeder from Co. Cavan secured the top price of €9,000 at the February Show and Sale of Pedigree Bulls and Heifers at the Showgrounds, Carrick-on-Shannon over the weekend.
The event went ahead despite extensive damage caused to the offices and sales ring by Storm Éowyn. Shane McKiernan from Ballinagh, Co. Cavan achieved the top price of €9,000 for his August 2023-born entry.
Three animals from the sale went to Northern Ireland purchasers and one to a customer in Great Britain. There were a total of 24 Angus bulls, selling at an average of €4,200.
