Tributes have been paid to Aoife Lennon who lost her life in a collision in Monaghan on Wednesday
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to collision that occurred at Castleshane just outside Monaghan Town on Wednesday afternoon.
The collision involving a car and a truck occurred on the N2 at approximately 2:45pm that afternoon.
The driver of the car, Ms Lennon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Aoife is a native off Derrynoose in County Armagh and was married to a local Garda officer.
Paying tribute the secretary of Armagh Ladies Football Association Emma Oliver said everyone in Armagh LGFA is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our former player Aoife Lennon.
Aoife was part of their Junior All Ireland winning team in 2005 and Ulster winning team in 2004.
The group said their thoughts are with her family, friends and former teammates in Armagh LGFA and Derrynoose GAC.
