Tributes have been paid to the Very Rev. Fr. Phil Brady, a Co. Cavan priest who died this week.
Fr. Brady from Creighan in Cavan Town, and Legwee Bridge in Bruskey Ballinagh, passed away on Tuesday, January 6.
Since then, tributes have been paid for the late priest.
In a post on social media, St. Brigid's Parish in Laragh paid tribute to Fr. Brady.
It outlined how Fr. Brady arrived in the parish in August 2002, and became a "deeply loved and cherished member of the community."
The parish described his ministry as "marked by humility, kindness and deep faith".
It said that Fr. Brady brought "great comfort" to the sick and their family through his "gentle presence."
Fr. Brady also encouraged young people with his belief in the gift of faith and showed constant care for the elderly through his visits and attentiveness making sure they felt seen, valued and remembered.
Other tributes have also been paid on social media said that nothing can "adequately capture" how much he meant to all the people who benefited from his priestly ministry and his genuine care and compassion for everyone he met.
Another tribute highlighted how he gave many years of devoted ministry to the Ballyconnell community.
Fr. Brady is reposing in St. Mary's Church, Bruskey, this evening (Friday, January 6th), from six o clock until nine o'clock.
