Two additional Garda Sergeants will be allocated to the Ballyconnell Sub-district.
Fianna Fáil's Brendan Smith says this follows "continued efforts" to secure increased resources for the area.
Deputy Smith added that he's also been informed that it's envisaged that additional resources in this regard will be allocated to Cavan District going forward.

In February, Garda Padraig Scott was attacked in the Blacklion area - no arrests have been made so far.
Deputy Smith says this highlighted the need to provide additional Garda resources to the Cavan/Monaghan Garda Division, in view of the unique policing demands of the border region.
