Two treated by emergency services following Blayney fire

Two people were treated with smoke inhalation at the scene by the National Ambulance Service.

Two people have been treated by emergency services following a fire in Castleblayney.

The incident took place at the GR8 in Castleblayney.

In a statement issued to Northern Sound by Monaghan Fire Service, Chief Fire Officer Dermot Brannigan confirmed: "Units from Castleblayney and Ballybay attended a kitchen fire at GR8, Castleblayney.

"The building was evacuated on arrival of fire service. Fire service deployed Breathing Apparatus teams with hose reels to extinguish the fire. Two people were treated with smoke inhalation at the scene by the National Ambulance Service."
