Gardaí and emergency services attended a multi vehicle road traffic collision which occurred near Belturbet in Co. Cavan at around 8am this morning.
Four cars were involved in the early morning collision.
Three women have been taken to Cavan General Hospital where they are currently being treatment, two of which have serious injuries. Gardai say the road remains closed at this time and local diversions are in place.
