An uninsured driver was detected yesterday morning by members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit.
According to Gardai, the driver was also an unaccompanied learner.
The vehicle was subsequently seized and the driver now faces a court appearance and Fixed Charged Penalties.

Over 1,300 uninsured vehicles across the Cavan, Monaghan and Louth region have been seized by Gardaí since last year.
The data is based on incidents occurring from the 1st of January 2024 to 31st March 2025, inclusive.
In the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan division, 1,121 uninsured vehicles were seized by Gardaí in 2024.

While during quarter 1 of 2025, 255 vehicles were seized.
