An English Language Assistant from Bawnboy living in Spain says it will take years to repair the damage caused by flooding there.
22 year old Leigha Plunkett is currently working as an English Language Assistant in Valencia. Devastating floods hit Valencia in October and she began helping with clean up efforts immediately, describing the scenes as almost apocalyptic. The Cavan native is a graduate in Spanish and Drama from Trinity College and is currently studying a Masters in human rights. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Leigha says people are still traumatised by the event and fear the sight of rain.
She says that heavy rain is still causing problems for the area.
