'We need funding to keep our doors open' - SOSAD Cavan

Christine told Northern Sound, "SOSAD has been standing on its own two feet for 17 years now, we've only ever expanded our services and it’s about time someone backs us up because we deserve it and we need it."

Christine Wynne of SOSAD Cavan has highlighted her "devastation" over the announcement that SOSAD will cease its messaging service from tomorrow. The decision was made due to a lack of sustainable funding and the need to keep SOSAD open not just here in Cavan/Monaghan but across the entire country. Speaking to Northern Sound, Christine said "as a service we want to evolve but can't without any future security of money."

In the last 17 years, SOSAD has never had to cut a service up until now. Christine who paid tribute to the publics support over the years says goodwill donations are no longer sufficient due to how the service has expanded over the years and the demand for it. Christine says government funding is needed, and it's needed now to ensure that SOSAD can keep its doors open to those who need it most:
