A well-known hotel in Monaghan Town has applied for upgrades.
The Westenra Arms have applied to Monaghan County Council for the change of use of the second floor bar to additional accommodation. This would consist of seven new bedrooms and ensuites. Included in the application is permission to convert two of the seven new bedrooms into enabling bedrooms and shower rooms. Two bedrooms on the first floor are also set to be converted to accessible rooms.
A decision on the application is due in December
