Winners in both Cavan and Monaghan at Bord Bia Bloom

Three medals have been awarded to growers from Co. Monaghan at the 20^th annual Bord Bia Bloom this morning.

Declan McKenna from North Monaghan was awarded gold for this year’s Celebrity Dream Garden, inspired by Brendan Courtney.

Meanwhile, Clontibret’s Benny Magennis was awarded bronze for The Minions and Monsters Garden sponsored by Universal Ireland.

A gold medal was also awarded to Marion McGee from the Monaghan Flower and Garden Club in the Association of Irish Floral Artists (AOIFA) Rugged Beauty category.

There was also success in Co. Cavan, as the overall balcony garden award was presented to ‘The Birdwatcher’s Balcony Garden’ sponsored by RTÉ Radio 1 and Mooney Goes Wild and designed by Barry Kavanagh in Bailieborough.
