An investigation's underway after an elderly woman died from injuries sustained in a 'hit and run' in County Galway yesterday evening.
The pedestrian in her 80s was struck by a car which failed to stop, on the Old Limerick Road at Oranmore around 5pm.
She was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment, but later passed away from her injuries.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses with dash-cam footage from the area yesterday evening, to come forward.
