Woman dies in Dublin hit-and-run

A woman in her 60s has been killed in a suspected hit and run in Phibsborough, North Dublin.

She was walking when she was struck by a car after nine last night at the Cross Guns Bridge on Phibsborough Road.

Her body has been removed from the scene which has been sealed off for a technical exam.

It's understood the car involved had come to the attention of gardai shortly before the crash and a referral has been made to the garda watchdog, GSOC.
