Works are due to commence towards the end of the summer on the former Percy French Hotel in Ballyjamesduff.
It was confirmed at the most recent sitting of the Balljamesduff Municipal District that diggers are due on site in either August or September.
Contracts were signed last year for the Ballyjamesduff Community and Enterprise Hub following a €7.6m Rural Regeneration Grant. The project will redevelop and refurbish the former Percy French Hotel and site in the centre of Ballyjamesduff providing a remote working hub and community facility.
Cllr Trevor Smith says the former hotel will become a state of the art community building. While there has been delays to the works getting underway, Cllr Smith said it's important to get the significant development right when it comes to the needs of the people in the area.
