A status yellow weather warning is in place for Counties Cavan and Monaghan this afternoon.
The moderate weather warning is in place until 8 o'clock this evening.
It was put in place by Met Éireann because of heavy downpours with thunderstorms and hail. The national meteorological service says there is the potential of spot flooding, hazardous travelling conditions and poor visibility on the roads.
