You have to die to get your road done in Co Monaghan.
This was the sentiment expressed by Cllr Hugh McElvaney during this week’s local authority budget meeting where roads funding and the lack thereof, was discussed in detail.
Mr McElvaney’s comments came after Cllr David Maxwell thanked Monaghan County Council for getting the roads done for funerals.

Cllr Maxwell also highlighted the battle it has become to secure funding to carry out roadworks countywide.
