GAA hoping to having competitions returning in March

The GAA have once again confirmed that as the current situation with Covid 19 remains fluid they cannot give a definitive date as to when

The GAA have once again confirmed that as the current situation with Covid 19 remains fluid they cannot give a definitive date as to when activities will return.

In an update to clubs, the association have noted positive indications in terms of the reduction of cases numbers and the continued roll out of vaccines and remain hopeful that they could be a return of competitions in March.

The also gave some clarity, that they remain committed to giving a 4 week window for teams to prepare for the return of action and are hopefully of running off all competitions, that were outlined in a masters fixture plan released at the end of last year.

A reminder was also given that all pitches and gyms must remain closed during the current restrictions.

Longford county manager Padraig Davis believes the return for inter county teams may happen at the start of next month

For the teams of the Shannonside/Northern Sound region, Monaghan and Roscommon will compete in Division 1 with Cavan and Longford in Division 3.

Leitrim will be in Division 4 with the leagues this year been divided into regional groups.
