Monaghan County Libraries teamed up with TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan to give away free books on buses on all Monaghan routes on Friday. Bags were placed on seats containing 'Quick Reads' which Monaghan County Libraries gifted to TFI Local Link passengers.
The initiative was run in conjunction with today's national Read's Day when people will be asked to make a pledge to indulge in a book at some stage during the day.
Karen McCague is the Executive Librarian with Monaghan County Libraries and she told this week's Wider View that Ireland Read's Day is about reaching those who love and read books.
