Calls for 'common sense to prevail' over A5 court hearing. Niall McKenna, chairperson of the A5 'Enough is Enough' campaign, hopes that "common sense will prevail.". Yesterday, a legal challenge to the proposed 58-mile (94km) dual carriageway scheme began at Belfast High Court. According to Niall, there has been previous hearings in court on this issue. However, this marks the first time that families of road victims have been given the opportunity to put their point of view across in the setting of a courtroom. Niall was also one of several hundred people who took part in yesterday's rally in support of the A5 road scheme.
The group, which included the relatives of people killed in crashes on the road, gathered at the High Court in Belfast. The second day of proceedings of the A5 court hearing got underway this morning at 10am. Jodie Curran spoke with Mr McKenna earlier today from outside the High Court in Belfast:
