Calls for a Park and Ride facility at Whitegate Cross has moved a step closer.
Cavan County Council has been informed by the TII, that as portion of money has been set aside. Indeed, to investigate the purchase of ground to facilitate the construction of a Park and Ride facility.
It's something that Councillor Shane P O'Reilly has been talking about; and campaigning for; over the years.
Furthermore, he says it an issue that he has banging his head against the wall and he says he very vindicated today.
He says it a red letter day for him personally, and it's also a red letter day for the people of the area.
Cllr O'Reilly says it's a very important step forward now after highlighting this for a long time, campaigning with others for over a decade and he spoke to Ronan Gargan at the location.
