Michael Moynihan- Minister of State at the Department of Education and Youth with special responsibility for Special Education and Inclusion visited Co Monday today.
He took part in the Special School Principals Forum which was held in Monaghan.
This marked the fifth and final forum of this kind.
Speaking on today's Jo Finnegan Show, Minister Moynihan said the forum is all about sitting down and speaking with principals to identify what the day to day challenges are.
He said it's important to find out what the challenges are in special schools in 2026, how we see those challenges involving into the future and how we can best support principals and bring about needed policy.
Minister Moynihan said engagement with the forums which have taken place across the country has been thorough and extremely beneficial.
