There is still a need for new legislation to safeguard against forestry falling on power lines.
Local TD, Brendan Smith has been calling for such legislation since Storm Éowyn 17 months ago.
He raised the issue with the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, Darragh O'Brien in the Dáil this week.
Deputy Smith said that it shouldn't be "rocket science" to bring forward legislative measures, and that the issue should have been addressed before Storm Éowyn.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Smith said he's anxious for legislation to be put in place.
He said: "I'm very anxious that the relevant regulations are put in place as quickly as possible, to ensure we have quality in relation to forestry corridors.
"We cannot have trees being planted, within a certain distance of transition lines.
"One of the major problems [from Éowyn] was the damage done to critical infrastructure, by falling trees," he added.
