A man aged in his 30s has been sent forward to trial accused of an alleged attack on another man in Monaghan.
The incident occurred on the 6th of March 2025 at the St Patrick's Accommodation Centre in Monaghan. 36-year-old Oussama Kechada was served with a book of evidence at a sitting of Monaghan District Court this week.
He is charged with assault causing harm at the local asylum seeker accommodation centre. Mr Kechada with an address of the Court Hotel in Ashbourne appeared before Judge Patricia Cronin.
The court was told that the DPP would be seeking that he was sent forward for trial in October before Monaghan Circuit Court. Legal aid was also extended to allow for junior counsel to represent the 36-year-old.
Mr Kechada was remanded on bail to a sitting of Monaghan Circuit Court on October 6th.
