Cllr Stiofan Conaty on his calls for more Gaelscoileanna in Cavan. Cavan has the lowest percentage of kids attending Irish-medium education in the state.
Cllr Stiofan Conaty said, compared to other counties, Cavan is an outlier, and this has to change. Moreover, the local councillor highlighted the issue at this week's local authority meeting.
Furthermore, he said Cavan needs at least 3 new Irish-medium primary schools.
The Sinn Fein councillor says one in the west of the county; one in the south-east; and one in the Cootehill area is needed alongside a Gaelscoil for secondary school students.
He joined Ronan Gargan earlier on the Wider View to discuss his calls.
