There is increasing concern that the review initiated by the Government will not take a balanced approached to the abortion system in Ireland. According to figures released to Aontu, over 28,500 babies have been aborted in Ireland since the law was changed.
Cavan County Councillor, Sarah O'Reilly, says the review has found that 90% of doctors refuse to carry out abortions. She highlighted how most doctors entered the profession to save lives, not to end them.
The local Aontu representative spoke to the Wider View this week. She began by explaining where this concern is coming from.
