Listen Back: 'Consistency is key' says Monaghan Tidy Towns. Cavan and Monaghan have both been described as "consistently good performers" following the latest IBAL survey which was released earlier today.
Monaghan has been ranked as the fourth cleanest town in the country.
This marks yet another top five position for the county town after it was ranked third cleanest last year.
Ten sites were surveyed and six sites out of the ten achieved the top litter grade which is 'Grade A'.
This included the approach road at the N54, the Dublin Road, St Joesph's Church, Monaghan Business Park, Canal View and the deposit return scheme facility at Lidl.
Despite this, four of the ten sites fell short of cleanliness for being moderately littered.
This was The Diamond, Glaslough Street, Monaghan Library and Museum and the playground at Oriel Way.
