Current situation with Sliabh Dubh housing estate in Corduff. Cllr Noel Keelan requested the up-to-date position on the “taking in charge” by the local authority of the Sliabh Dubh housing estate in the Corduff area at the monthly meeting of Monaghan County Council.
The estate, constructed over 20 years ago and developed to a high standard, however the developer was not in the position to finish the estate.
According to Cllr Keelan, Monaghan County Council received an application to take this estate in charge.
Indeed, under the legislation, Monaghan County Council is prepared to take this estate in charge.
However, there is a difficulty as Sliabh Dubh is serviced by a DPI; therefore, Uisce Eireann will not allow this estate to be taken in charge.
Cllr Keelan says the Local authority is prepared to move forward and take this in charge; but unfortunately Usice Eireann will not concede to this; thus holding up the process.
