Listen Back: Local Cllr raises concerns re fallen and overhanging poles. A local councillor has called on Telecom Éireann to address the issue of fallen and overhanging poles along roads.
Cllr Winston Bennet made the call; when he brought a motion to the monthly meeting of Ballyjamesduff Municipal District on the issue.
The Fine Gael councillor says there is a major safety issue in relation to overhanging poles and they pose a risk to motorists.
He says he has received a number of calls from lorry drivers and bus drivers about these poles.
Cllr Bennet says it's not a new issue but seems to only have got worse especially after Storm Eowyn last year.
The Co Cavan councillor wants the situation addressed better to prevent these overhanging poles causing accidents on our roads . He spoke to Ronan Gargan in detail about his concerns.
