Listen Back: "Serious questions remain over Shane O'Farrell's death" - Deputy Matt Carthy

Serious questions remain over Shane O'Farrell's death - Deputy Matt Carthy. A vote on a motion; brought by Sinn Fein; came before the Dail on Wednesday night surrounding the death of Shane O Farrell.  The motion is to hold a public inquiry.

Although the motion passed, it will not be enacted. This means no independent public inquiry will be established.

Shane was 23 when he was killed in a hit and run accident close to Carrickmacross. Indeed, Deputy Matt Carthy brought the motion before elected representatives this week. Moreover, both he and Deputy Pauline Tully, who are local TD's, voted Yes. The other 3 local TD's decided to abstain from voting.
