SpudFest 2025 will take place in Monaghan Town this weekend.
The popular event is held in memory of Jason 'Spud' McElvaney who passed away four years ago.
Ciara Clerkin is one of the organisers and hopes that Saturday's line-up of events will be "bigger and better" than ever before. Speaking to Northern Sound, Ciara described the late Jason McElvaney as the "life and soul" of every party and someone who was loved by so many.
According to Ciara, suicide is something that has unfortunately impacted many families across Co Monaghan and further afield.
Ciara believes that this weekend is a celebration of all those who have passed.
She added that this weekend will also provide an opportunity for those who are struggling to be aware of the mental health services and supports that are available to them within their own community. Jodie Curran spoke with Ciara about the event:
