According to Deputy Tully, the Government’s lack of a plan for overcrowding is impacting directly on waiting lists.

Sinn Féin TD for Cavan-Monaghan Pauline Tully has revealed that cancellations at Cavan General Hospital were 1,048 last year.

This includes 294 day-case procedures and 754 outpatient consultations.

According to Deputy Tully, the Government’s lack of a plan for overcrowding is impacting directly on waiting lists through cancellations. Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Tully highlighted her party's plan to improve the health service by delivering 3,000 hospital and community beds, ending the recruitment embargo, training more healthcare professionals, and investing in local health services.

She believes that it’s time for a Health Minister who will "stand up for people" and deliver the change that the health service needs. Deputy Tully says so many local people have suffered due to these cancellations.
